Well hey, it has been a long while since I wrote a blog!
Firstly, I have changed my blog provider to give me a new look blog that is a bit more flexible at the back end (writing blogs). This will help me enormously and will help me get back in to writing blogs more regularly.
Secondly, I have been through some interesting times behind the scenes.....mainly I have discovered who my true friends are and also discovered that some people aren't who I thought they were either (sadly). I have also been through some tough times on a personal (family) level as well, which has all taken its toll on me and the time I have available to do the things I want to. Sometimes you just have to make sacrifices and look at the bigger picture.I will say one thing. When it comes to friendship, choose wisely. There are sometimes people out there who act like your friend, but are really controlling you for their own ends and what they want to achieve. It really hurt to discover this but I learnt from it.
Anyway, enough of my woes. I am really pleased to say that on the music front, loads of things seem to be happening at once (bit like herding cats I guess). The little band venture I began in April of this year is really beginning to develop in to something much deeper. We did start out as Sparkling Cyanide and, very soon, you will see a new band name and new branding. I won't tell you now......it will spoil the surprise!
With regard to my solo material, I am currently in songwriting and arranging mode. I have given myself until Christmas to get at least an album of songs in place to start recording early 2011 and to try and get a release date before summer 2011. All the usual songs that you know, like Angel and Heroin of the Soul will be in there, but I want to look at ALL of my music and take it to the next level and I will be making sure that it is an album I will be proud to release, but more importantly, it is an album that you wonderful people will be proud to own and to play!
You will also notice that there are no more links to Blast My Music on any of my sites. I am not using Blast My Music for digital distribution of my solo material anymore. I would greatly appreciate it if, from now on, you use my ReverbNation store to purchase anything from me, such as music downloads. The store is also on the main ReverbNation page at www.reverbnation.com/shauncbryant, just on the right hand side.
On a music store note, I am really pleased to say that there will soon be merchandise available for the Shaun C Bryant brand! So, not only will you be able to download MP3s, but you will soon be able to buy T-shirts, baseball caps and the like. Show you are a fan and wear the T-shirt (when available)! :-)
